I Did It!

After years of hard work, and lots of tears, I am proud to say that I passed my final evaluation and start seeing clients the end of August!  It is so weird to think that I, a punk-ass kid, am going to be helping people with their problems and aiding them in finding the answers that are right for them.  I have had people ask if I'm excited, but I'm not, I am more anxious than anything.  I'm scared that my clients will not like me, that I will be unable to help them, and most of all, that I am not ready.  I understand that education is a process, and that this is something that I will become more comfortable with in time, but right now I feel like I could cry/pee my pants/scream/have a beer all at the same time. Weird, huh? So for now, I am going to do my best not to worry about it, and I'm going to try to give myself a little more credit- I didn't get here on pure luck alone.

"The Kappa Kouch"

After not a lot of careful thought, or deliberation, I have come to the conclusion that my friend and I are going to begin a Bacehlor/Bachelorette blog that will aim to ridicule all of the crazies that go on that show.  Not to say that either of us wouldn't go on in a heartbeat, but we would tone down our crazy as much as possible.  Starting freshman year, my friend Nicole and I have shared our thoughts on these shows amidst the rest of our sisters in the Kappa living room, and this is a tradition that has carried on via skype and text messages.  I can count on being thoroughly entertained whenever I recieve any of her thoughts/reactions to that week's episodes, and I strongly feel that this hilarity is something that needs to be shared with mankind.  We intend to call this new blog "The Kappa Kouch" and fill it with all of the senseless babble that the blogspot.com can handle, or allow.  This little gem is going to be a work in progress, but I love forward to its birth sooner rather than later.

Me and Harry

I saw the final installment of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows yesterday, and I must say that I'm in a weird place.  The movie was amazing, but it was something more than that... I feel like I'm ending a 10 year (and entirely one sided) relationship.  I remember when I was in 6th grade at St. Paul's Catholic School and the book was banned because coo-coo principal thought that the witchcraft was "blasphemy".  In the years following, I made it a point to read every book and attend as many openings as I could.  I am especially fond of the memory I have of my mom and I going to see Chamber of Secrets and her falling head-over-heels in love with Doby the house elf.  Needless to say that I have numerous other memories, but this one is among my favorite.  All in all, I feel like Harry and I were in a 10 year relationship without ever even getting to second base, and I am forever to be left constantly wanting more.

Summer Travelin'

I feel as though all of my summer fun has been had, sad to say considering that it is not even the middle of July yet.  So far I have been to Florida with Ryan and to Milwaukee to visit Malorie before road-tripping to Chicago to visit Lindsay and co.  The next week is going to be nuts between class, homework, work, and Ryan being gone. I wonder if I am going to find time to sleep? Hopefully the answer is yes.

If Only...

Some girls plaster posters of boy bands and Edward Cullen on their walls, not me. No sir.  I am hopelessly obsessed with Jeff Lewis from BRAVO's "Flipping Out".  Granted, he is not single and I will never be his type (a.k.a. male) but man o man, he is a stone cold fox!

World Market Fabulous-ness

I have come to the conclusion that World Market is the best place on earth to buy beer.  I had previously written about their make your own 6 packs which I am in love with, but today I stumbled upon a little gem.  Apparently they do "Featured Formats" of selected brews from time to time, and this weeks/months featured gem is none other than Unibroue's amazing La Fin du Monde. This beer is amazing for so many reasons:
1. Its a Belgian
2. Its fruity AND floral
3. It pairs well with most everything
4. EVERYONE likes it... no joke

When people come into work and want a fruity, floral, or Belgian beer I always encourage them to give La Fin du Monde a try. I highly recommend buying this bad boy for yourself, I bought three! Cheers!

A week ago I was in Florida with Ryan and a week from now I'll be in Milwaukee and Chicago with my duckies, these next few days can't go by quick enough!
Quack, Quack, Quack!
